The American Canyon Napa County Library serves American Canyon by providing free and equal access to public library facilities, information resources, and services that enable American Canyon's diverse population to acquire information, pursue life-long learning, explore ideas, experience recreational and cultural enrichment, and enjoy the pleasure of reading.
Governance and Financing
The American Canyon Library is a branch of the Napa City-County Library, which is governed by state law and functions under the authority of the County Board of Supervisors. An eight-member Library Commission serves as the Library's policy advisory board, of which one member is appointed by the American Canyon City Council.

Library Cards
Any resident of California may obtain an American Canyon Napa County Library card by presenting identification which verifies his/her name and current address. Parental signature and address verification is required for children under age 18.
An American Canyon Napa County Library card may be used in any library in Napa and Solano Counties. Patrons should always bring their library cards with them when coming to the library.
For persons who do not have address verification or a parental signature, a temporary library card may be issued which allows 5 items at a time to be checked out. Out-of-state residents with proper identification may obtain an American Canyon Napa County Library card for an annual fee of $25.00.
Borrowing privileges will be suspended if excessive charges are on the card. Each patron is responsible for his or her own library card and for any materials or fines incurred on the card. Parents are responsible for their children's cards. Lost cards should be reported immediately.
