Please pay your bill by the payment due date shown on the front of the bill. If you are mailing your payment, please send it in the envelope enclosed or send it to Post Office Box 1410 Suisun City, CA 94585-4410. If you prefer to bring your payment to the water department directly, you may do so. There is a 24 hour drive thru drop box located at the corner left side of the parking lot at 4381 Broadway, American Canyon, California 94503.
Services Provided:
Sewer service is charged to all City customers. Sewer charges are NOT PRORATED. The sewer service rate for single-family residentil customers is broken into three categories, based on average water consumption from the winter months (January - March) of the prior year. The rate increase, tentatively set for February 1, 2008, was placed on hold until a citizen initiated referendum on the rates was resolved. This has been resolved and the new rate structure with tiered rates will appear on customers' April 1, 2008 bill. Click on the Water & Sewer Rates link below for more information:
Past Due Notices
An unpaid bill is considered past due if payment is not received by the 24th of the month, or the next business day. If you are unable to pay your bill, please call (707) 647-4364 or come in person to our office to discuss payment arrangements. If your account becomes past due, a 10% penalty fee and 0.5% interest will be assessed to water and sewer services separately. If the bill remains unpaid, a door hanger will be presented at the service location indicating a shut-off date. If your service is shut off, there is a $75.00 reconnection fee. For reconnections after 4:30 p.m., the fee is $262.
Returned Payment:
If a direct debit is returned or the bank returns your check, a $25.00 fee will be added to your account. For each subsequent returned check, the fee will be $35.00.
